Sure enough, I found a pattern within two minutes of my search and it couldn't be more close to Victoria's top if it tried:
The yarn brand recommended in the pattern is 'Marriner's Heritage,' which is a British brand. Marriner's is still an active company but I wasn't able to find their 'Heritage' because it's discontinued. The finest gauge of yarn they stock is a 4 ply acrylic yarn only available in a cone of 500 g.
I went back to get a link to the pattern but it is not available. Sometimes there is a lag time after a purchase is made. The link to the Etsy shop where I purchased the pattern is below:
So off to my favourite yarn store, LoveKnitting I go!
I found an acrylic yarn called Patons Fairytale Fab 4 Ply for only $2.21AUD per skein and purchased their black yarn and another called 'natural' which is off white. Because it was so cheap I purchased 8 skeins just to be sure. Link to the Patons Fairytale Fab 4 Ply yarn:
So it cost me $25.68AUD (including postage) for the materials to knit 'Victoria's top.' If I were to sell it, I would charge $60.00AUD. Much better than $1,900.00 don't you think?
