The colour is beautiful and the embellishments are quirky giving the total look much to admire. Cate Blanchett gets it right most of the time and she has certainly hit the mark here. I love the glamour of this gown and the cut is superb harking back to the '50's silhouette style. The shoulder embellishments give balance to this gown as does the train.
Another stunning gown was worn by Charlize Theron:
This gown's simple, clean and silhouette style is pure class. Very Christian Dior.
The 'silhouette' styling for evening and day wear was very popular in the '50's. It gives a dramatic look which, when worn by ladies with lithe but shapely figures is stunning and very feminine. Again, gowns such as these are very much 'statement' gowns and totally speak for themselves.
And to finish, a photograph of two beautiful women, Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly back stage at the 1956 Oscars Ceremony. Just stunning!
